If US$1,000 for a smartphone with built-in animated emojis is a bit of an overkill for you, you’ll probably want to wait a year to get one at a fraction of the price.
As per a memo written by renowned KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is likely to release a trio of iPhones next year that follow the iPhone X’s design.
The lineup is said to include an upgraded 5.8-inch iPhone X and a 6.5-inch ‘iPhone X Plus’. There’re also talks of a cheaper 6.1-inch LCD version priced between US$650 and US$750 that will be targeted at the budget and mid-range markets.
According to Kuo, the economical ‘iPhone X’ will “differ significantly” from the other models due to its lower resolution display. It is, however, likely to feature Face ID, so Touch ID could truly be a thing of the past.
Just like every other year, the new iPhones are slated for release at the end of 2018.
