You can soon have your dog relate to your penchant for sushi, thanks to a non-profit in New Zealand.
According to Concrete Playground, sushi for dogs has been “a thing since the early 2000s.”
The site also reports that a for-dogs-only sushi popup bar will be opening in Parnell’s Heard Park, Auckland, on 3 December 2017, in hopes of helping pooches maintain a “holistic, all raw” diet.
Organized by The Big Dog Walk with Lots of Dogs, the ‘Poochi Sushi’ popup will feature three sittings of 10 to 12 pups. The schedules are arranged according to dog sizes, so your corgi will not be saying “Wasabi-tch?” to ‘Clifford the Big Red Dog’.
At just NZ$15 (US$10) a pup, ‘Fluffy’ will be provided with a platter of sushi and sashimi made with premium salmon from Marlborough Sounds, as well as hoki from the Coromandel.
If that’s not enough, the bar will even serve a complimentary non-alcoholic ‘Pawl Ale’ “beer” to help your dog through its ruffest days. Learn more here.
